![]() About Us
![]() What we do... Care is provided in an atmosphere of warmth, security, love and respect. Each child is recognized as a unique individual. The care setting and curriculum are designed to promote self esteem, independence, and learning. A balance of active and quiet play, indoor and outdoor play, and structured and non-structured activities fill the children's day. Our Pre-Kindergarten classroom at our second site offers daily intergenerational programming with the elderly residents of Evergreen Retirement Community. Our Preschool Program meets the needs of families desiring the formal two and a half hours a day Preschool setting.
![]() Quality, Qualified Staff... We are proud of our trained and experienced staff. Inservice and continuing education are offered throughout the year to enhance caregiver skills and knowledge. Teams of teachers are responsible for the total planning and care for each group of children. Parents are an important part of our program. Communication between families and staff is an essential component of our program. We maintain regular contact at the beginning and end of each child's day. In addition, we offer opportunities for conferences, provide special family events, and offer parenting resources. Daily notes home and a monthly newsletter are used to inform families of daily events and special activities. You are welcome and encouraged to participate in our Parent Advisory Committee that meets monthly.
![]() Parental Involvement... Parents are welcome to visit the Center at any time. A Parent's Advisory Group meets monthly. Parents are encouraged to share their ideas of interest and professions with their child's classroom. For example, a dental hygienist would come in at group time to read a favorite story about brushing your teeth.
![]() Meals... Nutritious meals and snacks are served at regular intervals throughout the day and are prepared under the guidelines of the USDA Child Care and Adult Food Program. Children and teachers eat their meal in the classrooms. We encourage discussion on nutrition, daily events, and what is new at home and school.
![]() Outside the Center Activities... Each August we have a Center wide picnic. All families and staff are invited, each bringing a dish to pass. We rent the large shelter at South Park. Each classroom puts on a game or activity for children to do. A raffle takes place after dinner. In December children in the Rockin' Roller Room through the Wiggler Room have an Open House. This takes place here at the Center after hours. Each family is asked to bring a plate of goodies to share. All other children participate in a Holiday Program. This takes place at North High School in the auditorium and usually takes happens within a week of the Open House. Each class goes on stage and sings a few songs for us. All families are asked to bring a plate of cookies that morning to Davis to enjoy after the Program. Santa puts in a visit at both events! In February we hold a Family Fun Night. All families are invited to attend. Each classroom plans a game to take place in their room. There is also face painting and a balloon artist here.
![]() Center Closings... Davis is closed on the following holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. If the holiday should fall on a Saturday, we will be closed on Friday. If the holiday is on Sunday, we will be closed on Monday. We are also closed one day at the end of August for a Teacher Inservice.
